Colorful Crochet Crop Jacket Inspired by Kaffe Fassett
I crocheted this jacket as a warm everyday piece with strong, happy color. I was inspired by the rich color work of Kaffe Fassett designs, especially the way many colors can live together and still feel balanced.
The jacket has a cropped, relaxed shape, long sleeves, and deep purple edging around the front, cuffs, and lower border. It fastens with four large buttons. The purple brings the brighter colors together and gives the jacket a clear frame.
The pattern has red, blue, turquoise, pink, orange, purple, and small green accents. The shapes run across the front, back, and sleeves, so the jacket has color from every side.
It is warm and comfortable. It works well over a simple T-shirt, blouse, or light sweater, with jeans, trousers, or a plain dress. I like it best with simple clothes, where the colors have room to show.
