Song of a Whale original artwork
I created this little, almost miniature artwork when I was working on 'Moon of Sedna' grattage art from the "Moons of Gods' series, so it has many things in common with 'Sedna' but the idea of it is completely different. There are no people or gods in the drawing, only the ocean, Nature itself, a magnificent whale, and little fishes that are rejoicing at the sound of the whale's song.
In this little artwork, I wanted to express my love for Nature, my respect, and my admiration of all living beings and especially the whales who were treated so mercilessly by humans.
I used the grattage technique once again because I love the rough, distinctive texture that it provides, and I love the way it lets me work with color. I added a picture of the artwork detail so you could see this texture.
