White Buffalo Woman – Wood Burned Plaque Featuring Native American Sacred Figure
This wood-burned plaque shows White Buffalo Woman, one of the most important spiritual figures in Lakota tradition. She’s the bringer of sacred teachings, and a symbol of harmony, peace, and deep connection to the Earth.
I created this piece using an image from the “The Goddesses” coloring book by Marty Noble, and carefully burned the design into smooth plywood using pyrography. The central figure — a young woman holding a sacred pipe — is surrounded by richly detailed patterns, two buffalo (perhaps a mother and calf), and traditional symbols like dreamcatchers, feathers, and stars.
The plaque is finished with transparent, water-based gloss varnish to protect the surface and bring out the warm tones of the wood.
Whether you’re drawn to Native American imagery, looking for a thoughtful gift, or simply want to add something soulful and unique to your home decor, this piece is made to speak to the spirit.
Size: approx. 40 x 30 cm (15.75 x 11.8 in)
