Warm Hand-Knit Yak Wool Beanie with Maple Leaf Pattern
I hand-knit this beanie from a natural yak-wool yarn in brown and russet tones. The yarn is soft and pleasantly warm — yak wool has a special kind of heat that feels steady and comforting without being heavy.
I used the jacquard technique to create the leaves pattern. The maple leaves came out nice and smooth, with a gentle contrast that brings out the russet shade without making it bright. I like the way the colors work together — the camel brown keeps everything calm, and the russet gives the pattern a quiet warmth.
Although I first planned it as a men’s beanie, it suits many people. The shape is simple, the yarn is soft, and the stretch makes it comfortable for head sizes around 54–60 cm. It’s a good everyday winter hat for anyone who prefers natural fibers and a calm, earthy palette.
