Small Wooden Keepsake Box with Floral and Heart Pattern – Wood Burned by Hand
I found a beautiful floral pattern in a coloring book created by Lindsey Boylan, and it inspired me to make this little keepsake box.
The woodburned design wraps around it from all sides, without a clear beginning or end. Flowers, leaves, small hearts, and curling lines are woven together into one continuous pattern that feels full, lively, and warm. When a design like this is burned into wood rather than printed on paper, it changes a little — it becomes softer, deeper, and more closely tied to the material itself.
That is one of the things I like about pyrography. The lines are not painted on the surface, but burned into it, and because of that they have a certain depth. The darker parts sink slightly into the wood, while the lighter areas remain smooth, and this gives the whole pattern a gentle movement when the light shifts.
The box itself is small, almost palm-sized, and closes with a simple metal clasp. It is suitable for little pieces of jewelry, keepsakes, or other small things that deserve their own place.
