Wood-Burned Round Keepsake Box with Japanese Cranes – Solid Wood Jewelry or Trinket Box in Traditional Style
I decorated this solid wood round box with a peaceful Japanese scene, wood burned by hand onto the lid. Two graceful cranes stand by a quiet river, framed by bamboo and flowers, with gentle hills in the distance. Around the sides of the box, I added a traditional Japanese leaf pattern, giving it a harmonious, finished look.
Japanese cranes, often called symbols of longevity and good fortune, make this not only a pretty keepsake box but also an auspicious gift. It can hold jewelry, small treasures, or any little things you want to keep safe, while adding a touch of elegance to your space.
The design for the lid comes from the Collage Art coloring book by Marty Noble (Dover Publications), adapted to fit the round surface of the box.
