Celtic Bull Sterling Silver Pendant with Ocean Jasper
Celtic culture has always drawn me in with its dense ornament, its love of living form, and that quiet sense of strength held inside everything. I especially like the way animals are shown in Celtic art, and that is why I chose a Celtic bull for this pendant. In Celtic tradition, the bull is tied to strength, vitality, and grounded masculine power, and that made it feel right for this piece from the start.
The stone is a dark green piece of ocean jasper, glossy and intense, with a lighter streak crossing it like a breath of wind. That single movement changes the whole surface and gives the pendant a sense of gathered energy.
Above it, I placed a sterling silver Celtic bull I made by the lost-wax casting technique after an ancient image. I wanted the pendant to feel compact, balanced, and calm, with the strength held in one place rather than spread out. This is one of the more masculine pieces in my collection, though not in a rough or aggressive way. The energy here feels concentrated and controlled. I see it especially well with a dark shirt, knitwear, simple linen, or a plain jacket, where the shape can be clearly seen.
On the back, I opened the setting with rough vertical bars and small polished stars. I wanted the reverse side to feel finished, with its own quiet beauty. The pattern has something of a night sky in it, or a gate opening upward. The bull casting is hollowed on the back, which reduces the weight and makes the pendant easier to wear.
