Sterling Silver Flower Earrings with Antique Persian Turquoise
At first glance, these earrings are simple — soft silver flowers with rounded petals. But at the center, there is something quite rare: antique Persian turquoise.
I found these stones in an old pair of heirloom earrings. They have that pale, clear blue that is so characteristic of turquoise from the Nishapur region of Iran — a color often described as “sky blue,” but softer, with a quiet depth. Today, stones like this are not easy to come by in their natural, untreated state, and I felt it was important to give them a new setting that would not overpower them.
I shaped each flower by hand, keeping the lines calm and slightly irregular, so the piece would not feel mechanical. The silver holds the stones gently, allowing the color to remain the focus.
Turquoise has long been associated with protection, balance, and a sense of calm. Whether taken as symbolism or simply as a feeling, I do think these stones carry something steady and reassuring.
